The Langholm Archive has a index to the Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser from 1848 - 1880
Rootsweb.com hosts many 'free to subscribe' lists, including three specifically for researchers with ancestors in our area. One is Dumfries and Galloway, the second, Kirkcudbright and the third, Wigtownshire Rootsweb also has lists for specific surnames.
Kirkyards Website - Stewartry monumental inscriptions, placenames and maps, people and history.
Scotlandsplacesis a good site which covers the whole of Scotland and has historical tax records from the 18th Century for Dumfriesshire.
