About Our Publications.
The FHS publishes booklets of Memorial Inscriptions (gravestones) for many of the graveyards in the Dumfries and Galloway area. Recently, with the publication of Kirkpatrick Fleming, we have completed our project to re-publish the transcriptions done by Archie Shannon, George Gilchrist and others. We also have published all the existing burial records for Dumfriesshire, apart from Torthowald, which is in hand.

NEW PUBLICATIONS
Our most recent project has been to publish the MIs from the Machars of Wigtownshire which were transcribed by J.E. Birchman in the 1980s. The last booklets have appeared. Whithorn churchyard is in two booklets St Ninian's (£3.50 100g) which covers the oldest part of the churchyard and Extension 1 (£2.00 66g) which was the next part to be used. Last in the series is Kirkinner (£3.50 105g). Also newly published is an extraction of Annan Marriages from the Old Parish Registers and the Kirk Session Minutes.(£3.50 wt 100g) This contains more than 2200 entries, covering the years from 1765 to 1854 in the OPRs and from 1804-1854 in the KS.
