Appeal
for Volunteers |

The Society is seeking assistance from
members willing to volunteer some time to digitise paper based records.
In particular, we are looking for volunteers with competence in the use
of any of Microsoft Office software suite: i.e. WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS
and PUBLISHER. Volunteers
would be supplied with photocopied material to allow them to work
from home in their own time. If
you have indexing and layout skills to prepare material ready for
publishing, you will be especially welcome.

We have in the pipeline monumental
inscriptions for the major part of Dumfriesshire and burial indexes for
many parts of our region. Our
members are very keen to have these publications, so any contribution
you can make will be a great benefit to members and other researchers
worldwide, who have at present no access to this valuable resource.

We would also be interested to hear from
any member with website design skills, preferably living within easy
travelling distance of Dumfries, who could offer support with our
website maintenance and development. If you think you could help,
